Pobol Prism 2014

Project Overview

The aim of the residency was to explore the potential for creating participatory artwork with fictional characters.  In contrast to the Cardiff Market Hall Residency where  I found real people  busy earning a living, drawing little on their creative resources, the actors of Pobol y Cwm on the other hand were professionally trained to exercise their imaginative powers, but not all were willing to play along, when invited to interact with the resident artist in character. The cast’s skills of improvisation were not required in the industrial setting of a television studio in which up to seventy  pages of script were shot in a day.                                                                                                                                    img_6126.jpg
